5 Bible Verses You Can Pray For Your Children

Salvation. It’s the most important thing we want for our children. The most important prayer our heart whispers every day. The most important cry of every Christian momma’s heart.

More than a godly spouse, educational and financial success, power, position or health, we pray that our children will be saved.

But we’re not alone in this deep desire to see our kids come to know Christ. It’s God’s deepest desire too!

That’s why Jesus came… because it wasn’t His will that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance – and that includes your children, and my children, and every child on the planet.

And as moms, we have a weapon in the war that has been waged against our children’s souls. It’s called prayer. And not just prayer from our own hearts, but prayer from the very heart of God – prayer found tucked oh-so-sweetly in the Word of God.

Here are 5 Bible verses you can pray for your children.

Isaiah 49:25

“But the Lord says, ‘The captives of warriors will be released, and the plunder of tyrants will be retrieved. For I will fight those who fight you, and I will save your children.’”

2 Peter 3:9

“The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.

Proverbs 22:6

“Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.

1 Timothy 2:3-4

“This is good, and pleases God our Savior, who wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth.

1 John 5:14-15

“Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that he hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him. And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him.”
