Satan will come for her.

Oh, how he is going to come after my Scout Layne. My girl, who I know is anointed for a great purpose.

It’s our job to do everything in our power to point her to the cross. Because when he sends his demons after her, I want her to already be wearing the armor of God.

Not sure if you’ve noticed, but we have lost the current culture war in this country. Of course, I know God could shift things any time He wants, but as of now, darkness is what the USA has chosen to celebrate. And the enemy is smiling about it.

We have to teach her what truth is, because our culture is going to tell her she gets to make her own truth (whatever that means).

We have to teach her that God made them male and female, because our culture is going to tell her gender is fluid and she can be whatever she chooses.

We have to teach her that the purpose of marriage is to glorify God, because culture is going to tell her it’s all about her happiness.

We have to teach her that all lives have purpose before God knits them together in the womb, no matter the circumstances, because culture is going to tell her it’s just a clump of cells at day 1.

We have to teach her that human beings all worship something, and that her Creator is the only one who will satisfy her heart, because culture is going to tell her to live the sinful way — exalting the god of “self” above the God of the universe.

We have to teach her that her beliefs are not worth much if she doesn’t live them out in every area of her life, because culture will tell her to leave her faith in her church and in her own home.

We have to teach her that she should work hard at everything in her life – to bring glory to God – because culture is going to tell her she “deserves” something, pushing her to feel entitled.

We have to teach her that her worth is only found in the sacrifice that was made for her on the cross, because culture will tell her she should be obsessing over the number of followers or likes she sees on her social media accounts.

We have to teach her to dress herself with modesty and class because she is an ambassador for Christ, because culture will tell her that showing all the skin she wants is “empowering.”

We have to teach her to protect her eyes and ears by monitoring the media she consumes, because our culture is going to shove all kinds of trash in her face in the name of “inclusivity” and “just entertainment.”

We have to teach her to think for herself and rely on wisdom from God, because culture will tell her she’s an ignorant (and probably a racist) bigot if she doesn’t agree with the mob.

We have to teach her that the loving thing to do will always be to humbly point others to Christ, because culture will tell her that loving her neighbor means celebrating the sin that makes them feel good.

I’m sick of it. And you should be too. The darker it all becomes, the brighter our little lights will be.

Just make sure you know which team you’re on. Because Satan is coming after your baby too.
