Her dad, Ron Biles, says he never wanted his grandchildren to be in foster care. “I said, ‘send them to me,'” he says—and it wasn’t long before Simone and her sister stole his and wife Nellie’s heart, and they wanted to make them a forever family. Simone recalls the moment she learned that her grandparents would now be her parents forever, saying her dad said, “OK, you know how you called us Grandma and Grandpa? You can call us Mom and Dad now, if you want to.”
“My parents saved me,” says Simone. “They’ve set huge examples of how to treat other people, and they’ve been there to support me since day one. There’s nothing I could say to them to thank them enough.”
Watching her AMAZING performance to the song “Good Good Father” brought me to tears, as did seeing her gratefulness over her parents’ love and sacrifice for her. Such a reminder of how God has loved and adopted each one of us into His forever family, too, and how we should never take it for granted!
I am definitely rooting for Biles on DWTS this season, and I hope her testimony of hope from foster care to adoption continues to inspire thousands of foster kids and adoptive families!
