A Mother’s Hands

Mommas, look at your hands and remember this…

These are the hands created by God in my mother’s womb
Hands that felt the softness of her presence as my tiny fingers wrapped around hers

These are the hands that guided my new journey into life
Hands that helped me crawl, eat my food, zip my coat, and tie my shoes

These are the hands that taught me about connection
Hands that interlaced inside others and felt the warmth and security of love

These are the hands that help me express and create the life inside me
Hands that write letters, take pictures, play an instrument, make jewelry
