Kristen Bell sat down with Ellen Degeneres this week on the first birthday of her third “child,” a premium baby product brand, Hello Bello.
“The Good Place” actress teamed up with her husband, Dax Shepard last year to launch the line of premium baby products at non-premium prices.
Sold at a third of the price of other premium products on the market, Hello Bello are organic products designed with the modern, thrifty mom in mind.
Their plant-based collection includes everything from the cutest diaper prints you’ve ever laid eyes on, to wipes, lotion, shampoo, bug spray, sunscreen, and now, vitamins.
“A lot of people have to choose what’s good for their baby or what’s good for their budget, and we just generally didn’t think that’s fair,” Kristen told the Today show.
While visiting Ellen earlier this week, Kristen shared about the success of Hello Bello.
“When we first started this, we were very honest with the people that we collaborated with, and we were like, ‘We don’t need another paycheck,’” Kristen explains, saying that her and Dax were blunt about their intentions.
“We want to make a for-profit company that does really good things in the world, that has accessibility, and makes sure that parents don’t have to choose between their baby and their budget, and create a community,” she says.
In their first year alone, Hello Bello has given away more than a million diapers, and created even more affordability for first responders and active military members.
But perhaps the most exciting thing to come out of Hello Bello in its first year on the market, is Kristen Bell’s gift to new and expectant parents: One week of free diapers.
“We hope we can lift a little bit of the burden of having a child,” she says of the generous offer.
