It’s a new normal we’re navigating these days as the kids take on remote learning and us parents somehow manage to work as usual from the chaos of our home-turned-school. If you’re anything like me, having these kids at home ALL DAY LONG has turned into a snacking frenzy. I feel like 90 percent of my time these days is spent playing pantry police, and this mama is SO over it.

“I keep seeing these posts about kiddos wanting to eat all day while they are home,” she writes. “This was my solution!”
On Jennifer’s counter sits three colored baskets, each with her children’s snacks for the day placed inside of them every morning.
“When those snacks are gone they don’t get any more,” she writes. “It makes them stop and think do I really need a snack?”
Jennifer decided to kill two birds with one stone on this one, adding that she also puts each child’s cup for the day in their basket, “ because I’m not washing 50 cups a day!”
Amen sister!
Jennifer says her kids still eat their usual breakfast, lunch, and dinner. But the bored snacking HAD to stop.
“I just don’t have the luxury of spending $400 on just snacks for a week,” she writes.
Since first sharing her snack hack back in March, it’s gone viral with over 400,000 shares.
Erin Merryn, a mother of three from Illinois, put Jennifer’s idea into practice. After sharing it on her personal Instagram, it got nearly 23,000 likes and over 600 comments.
